It’s all over, and I still can’t believe it. What an incredible experience. The Grad Show was just amazing, and very inspiring. It was so great to see the fruits of everyone’s hard work; we’ve all accomplished so much over the past two years. It’s been a tremendous honour to be part of the Class of 2006. Thanks so much to the amazing teachers at Capilano College who made it all possible, and also to my wonderfully talented classmates! I hope that we’ll all manage to stay in touch as we move on to the next stages of our careers. After we manage to catch up on some much-needed sleep, naturally. :)

Got my mini-portfolios back from the printer today. I got 40 of them done, which should hopefully be way more than I actually need for the grad show, and I must say, they look gorgeous. As well they should, considering what I paid for them! Oh well. It’s my own fault, I just couldn’t resist the shiny brochure-type paper. Yum. The guy at the printing place said that with this paper, I’d get a job “guaranteed.” I sure hope he’s right! :)

 Also exciting… I signed up for John Delaney’s comic book course at Emily Carr for later in May. I can’t wait. After grad show I’m going to start putting together a portfolio of comic work to show to potential publishers, so it’ll be great to have John to consult with about my artwork. It’ll also be great to have some external deadlines to help me stay on track. And besides, John rocks. So, yay.

 Back to editing my demo reel now …

Heh. I haven’t posted very much in here (um, make that not at all, really), because I haven’t really known what to say. Then the other day a classmate mentioned to me that he doesn’t know what to say in his blog either, and suddenly I feel a whole lot better. (I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not!) Anyway, I uploaded a whole bunch of images today, including The Dinner Guest, a photoshop painting I’ve been working on for what seems like ages and which I finally finished today. Yay! So that makes it…. what? One drawing down, only another hundred or so to go. By the end of next week,eh? No problem!
